"I want to thank everyone that was involved in helping bring us victims the meeting the other night. It means a lot to people who have suffered abuse to know they are not alone. For over twenty years I have kept silent about what happened to me. I see now how much it has affected my life and the lives of those around me.
Through the Grace of God I'm learning to forgive myself and my attacker. I think the example Maria Goretti set for us is an important one. Hate and resentment will not bring healing.
I pray for the Maria Goretti Network. This program can help many people. Thanks to Father Gavin, Bishop Corrada, Miguel Prats, and all the others who have made this possible.
I will pray for you and all the other victims still suffering. I hope that God will continue to guide us all. I also pray for the ones who commit these acts and that the love of Jesus Christ can help them to change."
